Mock thoughts: Sanu at WR

Even draft analysts acknowledge that it's early to be forecasting which teams will select certain prospects. But a mock draft can still provide some value when considering a team's needs and in getting to know more about the prospects.

With that in mind, we pass along Peter Schrager's most recent mock draft on Foxsports.com (link here). Schrager the Patriots tapping the Rutgers pipeline with their initial first-round pick -- receiver Mohamed Sanu.

"As if the offense needs another weapon, Sanu set the Rutgers single-season receptions record with 109 this year and has 204 in his three-year career," Schrager writes. "A 6-foot-2 presence, Sanu might not wow you with his speed on tape, but he’s got precise route-running skills and incredible hands."

Assuming the Patriots make their other first-round pick, Schrager goes defense with Clemson defensive tackle Brandon Thompson.

"Capable of playing inside in both the 3-4 or the 4-3, he’s a young big body that fits Bill Belichick’s schemes well," Schrager writes. "In four years at Clemson, the All-ACC performer had 128 tackles and five sacks."
