Aaron Hernandez says he's OK

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez said he was OK after taking a hard hit on the head on a 2-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

Hernandez was examined by trainers on the sideline, who appeared to be administering a concussion test, and did not return to the game with what the team termed a head injury.

“I feel great,” Hernandez said in his only injury-related comment in the locker room after the game.

Nevertheless, his situation is one to monitor in the week ahead.

In a unique twist to the game plan, Hernandez was the Patriots' leading rusher in the game, carrying the ball five times for 61 yards. He also had four catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.
