INDIANAPOLIS -- The Patriots landed in Indianapolis at approximately 5 p.m. ET, slightly ahead of schedule.

As expected, tight end Rob Gronkowski wore a large boot on his injured left ankle.

The Patriots have surprised some in the media by arriving on Sunday (the Giants will arrive Monday). In recent years, most teams have been showing up for the Super Bowl on Monday.

In coming Sunday, the Patriots give a major assist to the NFL in promoting the game a day early. Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are scheduled to hold news conferences at around 6 p.m. ET.
