Last week, a top 50 free agents list from CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco was passed along here. Receiver Wes Welker was the lone Patriots player on the list (18th).
Today, Vinnie Iyer of the Sporting News is under the spotlight with his top 100 free-agent list. Iyer likes Welker as the ninth overall free agent.
"Don't expect one magnified missed connection with Brady to take away from his value as his go-to slot man," Iyer writes. "Welker deserves to get a lucrative deal, but may need to settle for a franchise tag."
In addition to Welker, the following Patriots appear on Iyer's list:
67. C Dan Koppen
82. RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis
90. DE Mark Anderson
As we shift into the offseason, lists like Prisco's and Iyer's can be good reference points for some of the positions that are deeper in the free-agent pool.
