INDIANAPOLIS -- Setting the schedule for the third day of the NFL Combine (full four-day agenda here):
Time to get defensive. Over the first two days of the combine, the spotlight has been on the specialists and offensive players. On Saturday, defensive linemen and linebackers are scheduled to come into the media center. Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio called this a deep draft in the front seven.
Slower day on pro side. On Thursday, 24 head coaches/personnel men came to the media center to speak with reporters. On Friday, it was 16. Today, the number reduces to three -- Giants general manager Jerry Reese (10 a.m.), Falcons head coach Mike Smith (10:15 a.m.) and Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel (3 p.m.). This should put a heavier focus on the college prospects.
Who's working out? Offensive linemen and tight ends.
