Columnist Dave George of the Palm Beach Post writes on Patriots coach Bill Belichick taking part in the Honda Classic pro-am in Palm Beach Gardens, and while Belichick drew a crowd and signed autographs, the coach summed up his presence this way: "It's good to be a part of it, but it's not Tim Tebow, I know."
"That carnival blew through the Honda pro-am one year ago, with Tebow stepping up to the first tee alongside none other than Jack Nicklaus and pounding a drive onto and over the par-four green more than 370 yards away. The shots were always so spectacular after that, but the spectacle was unending, with a few thousand fans racing around the course after Tebow, who never stopped laughing and posing for fan photos until sundown finally stopped the show," George writes.
"Belichick, far more subdued, did a fair amount of grinning, and a lot of signing, too, for the couple hundred fans who followed Wednesday's feature group. His name got scrawled across Patriots caps and Patriots mini-helmets and even a football that might have started the day fully inflated but was pretty much flat by the time it got handed over the ropes to the coach."
George writes on Belichick donning a Florida Gators rain jacket at one point, while playing alongside Greg Norman (a Steelers fan), Lexi Thompson, Joe Theismann and Kenny G.
