Mankins had ACL surgery

In a story now posted on ESPNBoston.com, Mike Reiss reports on Pro Bowl left guard Logan Mankins undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL after the Super Bowl.

Mankins hopes to return for the start of training camp in late July, but his status is naturally a factor in Bill Belichick's team-building approach this offseason.

The Patriots agreed with veteran offensive lineman Robert Gallery on a one-year deal on Monday.
