FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Speaking at a community event on Thursday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was asked if offensive tackle Matt Light had informed the team of his decision to continue his playing career.

Choosing his words carefully, Kraft did not directly address Light's future, but gave the impression that Light may have played his final game in New England.

"I don't want to speak for him," Kraft said, before asking the group of reporters if there had been "any public announcements" regarding Light's status. "I think you ought to speak to him."

Kraft was asked about the effects of a possible departure for Light.

"[If] Matt Light decides to retire. He's someone that's been with us the whole time," Kraft said. "He's been such an outstanding person both on and on the field."

A source recently told ESPNBoston.com that Light is strongly considering retirement.

More of Kraft's comments from Thursday's event, which was held in conjunction with Camp Sunshine, to come.
