In a decision that was expected, backup quarterback Brian Hoyer has signed his restricted free-agent tender with the Patriots, a source confirms.
(Update 4:45 p.m. -- The Patriots announced the signing of Hoyer.)
Hoyer had been tendered at the second-round level ($1.9 million).
While this is more of a formality than anything else, it is notable in the sense that Hoyer now counts against the 80-man roster limit.
Adam Caplan of Sirius XM NFL Radio first reported on Hoyer signing his tender.
