FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- With the 90th overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft, the Patriots selected Arkansas defensive end Jake Bequette.

At 6-foot-5, 274 pounds, Bequette is the second pass rusher the Patriots have selected in this year's draft. Bequette had ten sacks last season at Arkansas.

In 2011, as a redshirt senior, Bequette played in 10 games, and was named a first-team All-SEC selection. In addition to his ten sacks, Bequette notched five forced fumbles and 28 tackles (10.5 for a loss).

As a redshirt junior in 2010, Bequette was named to the All-SEC second team, starting all 13 games. He finished with seven sacks, 32 tackles (8.5 for a loss), and one forced fumble.

Bequette started 8 of 13 games in 2009 as a redshirt sophomore, recording 5.5 sacks, 39 tackles (9 for a loss), eight quarterback hurries, and two forced fumbles.

The 23-year old Bequette is a native of Little Rock, Ark.
