Now that the draft is over, there is competition to sign rookie free agents. Along those lines, the Patriots and South Florida offensive lineman Jeremiah Warren have agreed to terms.
Patriots coach Bill Belichick, director of player personnel Nick Caserio and pro personnel director Jason Licht all watched Warren work out in the pre-draft process. The club did not select an offensive lineman during the draft.
Warren (6-2 7/8, 336 pounds) had the majority of his playing time at South Florida at left guard, kicking inside after initially playing left tackle. The 2012 Pro Football Weekly draft guide described him as a "feisty, short-area mauler who stands out most for his physicality" and noted he could project to center in some systems.
