News that the Patriots hosted free-agent tight end Dallas Clark last week (link here) was met with the following question by some: "Why?"
With Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez and Daniel Fells atop the depth chart, there wouldn't seem to be a place for Clark. That's why the visit was viewed as more "due diligence" by the Patriots (link here).
Now comes a follow-up from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, who tweeted today: "Bucs worked out former Colts TE Dallas Clark last week, are expected to try to make a move on him this week."
With the Buccaneers prepared to move on from tight end Kellen Winslow, as Winslow himself noted on Sirius XM NFL Radio on Monday morning, they appear primed to add Clark to the mix, per Schefter.
