It may not be as flashy as Chad Ochocinco obtaining No. 85 from Aaron Hernandez last summer, but it appears that another jersey number will change hands between Patriots players this spring.
Running back Joseph Addai wore No. 29 for his six seasons in Indianapolis, and after signing with the Patriots earlier this month, it looks like he wants his old number back.
The problem, of course, is that defensive back Sterling Moore, a practice squad call-up last season who made a game-saving pass breakup in the closing minutes of the AFC Championship Game, wears that number.
The solution? For now, Addai and Moore both wore No. 29 at Tuesday's organized team activity. This evening, Moore tweeted that the two are negotiating the swap:
More on this surely to come. Ochocinco joked last summer that he would give Hernandez leftover McDonald's coupons for No. 85. Any guesses on what it will take Addai to wrestle No. 29 away?
