John Clayton talks Wes Welker, Patriots D

ESPN.com senior NFL writer John Clayton joined NFL 32 to discuss Wes Welker's contract situation and the Patriots' defensive moves.
Clayton says "there's not much talk going on at the moment" between the team and Welker's agent.
As for the defense?
Clayton thinks New England's first-round draft choices, DE Chandler Jones and LB Dont'a Hightower, will help the front seven. And he likes the addition of Steve Gregory to bolster the secondary's depth.
But what's Clayton's main reason to be hopeful about a defensive turnaround in New England?
"Let's put it this way: They were 31st last year. They can't be worse."
