O'Shea declines comment on Ochocinco

6/14/2012

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Patriots assistant coaches were made available to the media after practice on Wednesday, giving reporters a chance to talk to wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea about the recent decision to part ways with Chad Ochocinco.

However, O'Shea was quick to move on from talking about Ochocinco, who signed with the Dolphins earlier this week.

"I'd rather just talk about the guys that we have in here, the guys I’m working with, because this group that I’m working with, they’re as professional and as good a group as I’ve ever been around," O'Shea said. "They have a tremendous work ethic, and they’re all really competitive and want to win. They’re familiar with the system. So I’m pleased with the guys we have."

The inability to transition and pick up the offense is something that some have attributed as a factor leading to the release of Ochocinco. On Wednesday, O'Shea was asked if the Patriots offense was a difficult system to pick up.

"I think this offense is one that, with (quarterback) Tom (Brady) being in the system as long as he has, I think it's an offense that we're always changing with the guys we have playing. We always try to utilize their talents," O'Shea explained. "So, not really."
