With the Patriots concluding a four-week stretch of organized team activities and mandatory minicamp on Thursday, it's a good time to highlight the new page Belichick pulled out of his team-building playbook.

No jersey numbers.

Why no jersey numbers? After a call to the Patriots' marketing department didn't reveal the answer, the real reason came to the forefront: To enchance communication and encourage players on a 90-man roster to get to know each other better.
