Sirius XM NFL Radio is live at Patriots training camp today, with Pat Kirwan and Tim Ryan's "Movin' the Chains" program broadcasting from noon-4 p.m. ET.
Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty was the first guest, and one of the notable parts of the interview was when he was asked about veteran safety Steve Gregory, whom the Patriots signed to a three-year deal this offseason.
"You can tell when a guy just has high football knowledge, he kind of comes in and he fits in right away," McCourty said of Gregory on "Movin' the Chains."
"Since he came in for OTAs, he's been making calls, getting guys lined up right, and that's not easy to do when you get to a new team and you're trying to learn a new scheme, lining guys up and trying to take control. At the safety position right away, I think it was big for us, the addition of having him back there."
Gregory spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Chargers. The Patriots targeted him early in free agency this offseason.
Through the first three days of training camp, he's spent the majority of his time on the field playing alongside returning starter Patrick Chung.
