Offensive tackle Matt Kopa, who was sidelined for most of training camp with an ankle injury, has been informed of his release, according to a source.
It was going to be hard for Kopa to crack the 53-man roster without playing in a preseason game, which was the case. But he has practice squad eligibility, and given the thin numbers the team has at the position, the possibility of his return on the practice squad seems reasonable. Kopa spent the 2011 season on New England's practice squad.
