Report: Gaffney wants to return

Wide receiver Jabar Gaffney, who was released by the Patriots on Monday, would prefer to return to New England once healthy, reports Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Salguero reports, citing a league source, that Gaffney is on the Dolphins' radar, but that the 31-year old is hoping to re-sign with the Patriots once he recovers from a preseason leg injury.

The Patriots, once considered deep at receiver, released Gaffney and fellow veterans Deion Branch and Donte' Stallworth this week.
