Projecting the Patriots' inactives

The Patriots have already ruled out running back Shane Vereen (foot injury) for Sunday's season-opener at Tennessee, so they will have to declare six more players inactive 90 minutes before kickoff.

Here is an educated guess on who might fall into that category:

DE Jake Bequette (non-injury) -- Looks to be sixth on the depth chart, with Justin Francis ahead of him.

CB Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring) -- Reserve showed up on injury report Friday.

TE Daniel Fells (shin) -- Was questionable/limited in practice and team signed Michael Hoomanawanui.

DT Marcus Forston (non-injury) -- While rookie would be nice for depth, with heat in mind, Patriots still go four-deep at tackle.

C/G Nick McDonald (shoulder) -- While it would be ideal to enter with eight linemen, he didn't participate in a full-pad practice since injury in third preseason game.

CB/S Sterling Moore (knee) -- Reserve has been questionable/limited all week because of injury.

RB Shane Vereen (foot) -- Already declared out.
