Pats-Titans draws record viewers

September, 11, 2012
The Patriots' Week 1 contest against the Tennessee Titans drew the highest daytime season opener local ratings in franchise history, with a 33.5 household rating in the Boston market, which equates to nearly 800,000 viewers, the team announced on Tuesday.

Only two other regular season openers have drawn higher ratings in franchise history, both of which were Monday Night Football contests (at Miami in 2011, vs. Buffalo in 2009).

The game checked in with a household share of 60, which is to say that 60% of televisions that were on during the 1 p.m. EST - 4 p.m. EST window were flipped to WBZ-TV, the channel that aired the game.
