Source: Salas clears waivers

Wide receiver Greg Salas, waived by the Patriots on Tuesday, cleared waivers today, according to a league source.

Salas was acquired on September 1 in a trade with the Rams in exchange for a 2015 late-round draft choice , and was active in one of two regular season games.

Drafted in 2011, Salas still has practice squad eligibility. The Patriots currently have a full practice squad of eight players.

Linebacker Mike Rivera, also waived Tuesday, cleared waivers as well. He has exhausted his practice squad eligibility.
