The New England Patriots on Saturday evening downgraded guard Logan Mankins (hip), cornerback Alfonzo Dennard (hamstring) and defensive linemen Brandon Deaderick (ankle) and Justin Francis (ankle) to out for Sunday's game in Buffalo.
With Mankins not making the trip, the Patriots will likely have guard Donald Thomas make his second start of the season.
Deaderick, Francis, and Dennard also missed last Sunday's game in Baltimore with injuries. All three players were listed as questionable on Friday's injury report.
With Deaderick and Francis out, the Patriots will likely have defensive tackle Terrell McClain, who was signed on Wednesday, active against the Bills. Both rookies, Francis and Dennard were unlikely to be active even if healthy.
With receiver Julian Edelman (hand) and tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle) already declared out for Sunday's game, the Patriots will have to deactivate only one additional player prior to Sunday's game.
