FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Backup quarterback Ryan Mallett's work as Peyton Manning was recognized by the Patriots' coaching staff, as he was selected as one of the team's practice players of the week.

The practice players of the week are those who the coaching staff believes best helped the team prepare in the days leading up to a victory.

Catching up on two weeks ago, practice squad defensive back Malcolm Williams pulled off a rare feat as he was the only player tabbed for practice honors. The reason? He worked on the scout team defense, offense and special teams, never taking a play off.

The following are this year's practice players of the week:

vs. Broncos
FB James Develin
TE Daniel Fells
DE Justin Francis
QB Ryan Mallett
DE Trevor Scott

at Bills
DB Malcolm Williams

at Titans
OT Marcus Cannon
WR Julian Edelman
DE Justin Francis
LB Jeff Tarpinian
