FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- We knew that this Patriots running back group was young.
But young enough to walk around the locker room in onesies?
On Friday morning, lead back Stevan Ridley posted this picture on Facebook. From left to right, Jeff Demps, Danny Woodhead, Shane Vereen, Brandon Bolden, Ridley, and James Develin are dressed in one-piece jump suits.
For one, the photo gives a glimpse into the injury situation of Bolden, who left Sunday's game in Seattle with a knee injury and hasn't been spotted since. Bolden is shown holding a crutch in his left hand in the photo. He did not practice this week.
Otherwise, Ridley talked about the onesie getup on Friday in the locker room. He's been spotted wearing a red jump suit before, but was in blue on Friday. In all, Ridley said he has them in six different colors.
"My friend Toby at CCR (California Christiania Republic) Brand sent the onesie to me. I had to get the running backs to try them out. It's just kind of a small joke," Ridley explained.
Ridley said that he's been called an "angry Teletubby" by some. But his fellow running backs have his back on that one.
"It's a team thing. The running backs wore them together as a unit. Like (head coach) Bill (Belichick) said, it's all about the team," Ridley said. "That's why all the running backs are in onesies, but maybe one day you'll walk in here and the whole team will be in them."
The whole team? Maybe. But any chance of seeing running backs coach Ivan Fears suit up in the popular pajamas?
"He wasn't going for it," Ridley laughed.
