LONDON -- The Patriots are not only a banged-up football team, but they're also battling illness.
Stating defensive lineman Vince Wilfork was added to the team's injury report Saturday with an illness. His official status is "probable", which the team defines as a virtual certainty to play.
Earlier in the week, starting linebacker Jerod Mayo missed practice due to a combination of an elbow injury and illness.
Wilfork is the team's rock in the middle of the defensive line, playing 84 percent of the defensive snaps through the first seven regular-season games. If the illness limits Wilfork's time on the field, it will test the team's depth.
Kyle Love (3rd year), Brandon Deaderick (3rd year) and Ron Brace (4th) round out the interior depth chart, while end Jermaine Cunningham (3rd year) sometimes kicks inside, mostly in passing situations.
