FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots were without guard Logan Mankins (ankle/calf/hip) and receiver Wes Welker (ankle) for their first practice of the week on Wednesday.
Mankins left Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a left ankle injury and did not return. Welker finished Sunday's game and spoke to reporters in the locker room afterward, a sign that his injury situation is not major.
Meanwhile, linebacker Tracy White (foot) and defensive end Trevor Scott (ankle) returned to practice, which was held in light shoulder pads. Both had missed the past several weeks with injuries.
Cornerback Aqib Talib (No. 31) and guard Mitch Petrus (No. 67), who were added to the roster this week, were both on the practice field Wednesday.
