Wide receiver Jeremy Ebert, a 2012 seventh-round pick, is expected to be signed to the Patriot's practice squad.
Ebert was drafted 235th overall out of Northwestern by the Patriots and lasted until the final cuts of the preseason. He later signed with the Eagles as a member of their practice squad on Sept. 13, but was released shortly thereafter.
He was limited during the offseason due to a hamstring injury, but displayed reliable hands and a slot receiver skill set when on the field.
The Patriots currently have a full practice squad with eight players, meaning a corresponding move is likely. The team is dealing with injuries at the position on the active roster as well, as Julian Edelman left last Thursday night's game due to a head injury. The team recently released veteran wide receiver Deion Branch and second-year player Greg Salas, who was claimed on waivers by Philadelphia.
