The Patriots' recent run -- their 108 points in the last two games are the third most by a team in two-game span in NFL history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, and the most since the 1950 Rams -- has caught the eye of the panelist of voters: New England leapfrogged two teams -- Chicago and Denver -- that won their games in Week 12. In addition, the Patriots moved ahead of the Packers, who lost 38-10 to the Giants on Sunday night.

The Patriots' new ranking aligns with their record, as the four teams they trail in the power poll all have superior records, including the Texans (first) and Ravens (fourth), the two teams who they trail in the AFC standings.

While the Patriots have business to take care of against the Dolphins (18th) in Week 13, a two-game-in-six-day span against the Texans and 49ers (third) that follows looms large.

And while their record indicates that the Patriots are indeed the fifth best team in football, we throw the question out to you: are they ranked too high, too low, or just right in this week's poll?
