FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Sunday’s Patriots-49ers game was the team’s longest of the season, lasting 3 hours and 40 minutes.

The lengthy game was due in part to a long second-quarter delay as referee Ed Hochuli and his crew sorted out a confusing special-teams sequence that included multiple announcements over the referee’s microphone.
