The Patriots made a few back-end-of-the-roster moves on Monday, announcing the release of fullback James Develin and receiver Kamar Aiken from the 53-man roster.
Aiken had been promoted from the practice squad on Saturday and played three offensive snaps, as well as on the kickoff return unit, in Sunday’s win over the Jaguars.
Develin, from Brown University, played in one game for the Patriots this season (solely on special teams, vs. 49ers on Dec. 16) after being promoted from the practice squad on Nov. 28.
This creates two open roster spots, one of which is almost certain to go to defensive end Jermaine Cunningham, whose four-game suspension ended Monday.
In addition, the Patriots announced the release of receiver/punt returner Tony Logan and offensive lineman Jeremiah Warren from the practice squad.
