Now that the Patriots have created an additional $8 million of salary-cap space, who might be the beneficiary?
KC Joyner, writing for ESPN.com's Insider team, comes up with five players he thinks could fit the bill. He starts with Steelers receiver Mike Wallace, who is coming off a down year.
"A lot of Wallace's decline is circumstantial in nature and a change in scenery could go a long way toward getting him back to a near-Megatron level. Particularly if he were to join [Tom] Brady and the Patriots," Joyner writes, before listing four more players -- all on defense -- who he views as difference-makers.
Safety Ed Reed, one of two Ravens, is part of the list.
