FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- A total of 33 players took part in the Patriots' first on-field workout of rookie minicamp, highlighted by six of the team's seven draft choices and former CFL standouts Armond Arsmtead and Jason Vega.
The workout took place on the practice fields outside of Gillette Stadium, with the players donning helmets and t-shirts.
The media-access portion of the practice lasted through a group stretch and individual position group drills.
Of note was that wide receiver Josh Boyce, a fourth-round draft choice out of Texas Christian, was on the sidelines, presumably as he continues his recovery from a previously broken bone in his foot, which is believed to have been injured prior to the combine. While addressing the media earlier in the day, Boyce described his status as "day-to-day."
The 19 undrafted free agents that were officially signed on Friday morning were also present, as were five players who were invited on a tryout basis. The two names that have been confirmed among the tryout players are quarterback Ryan Osiecki out of the University of New Haven and offensive lineman Nick Halloran out of Bentley.
