FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- While the expectation is that receiver Julian Edelman should be fine for the upcoming season, his offseason routine has been altered because his prior foot injury required some further medical attention, according to league sources.
The Boston Globe reported earlier Tuesday that Edelman has been in a walking boot. This puts Edelman's availability for organized team activities (starting May 20 and ending June 7) and mandatory minicamp (June 11-13) in question.
Edelman reportedly broke his foot in the team's Dec. 2 win over the Dolphins.
The Patriots re-signed Edelman, a top punt returner, to a one-year contract on April 10.
