FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots held their fifth of 10 organized team activities on Wednesday, and the session was notable for its pace -- music was blaring at one point and the offense worked on its hurry-up attack -- and focus on the deep passing game.
This was a good chance to get a closer look at the team's outside receivers and how they track the ball in the air on long throws.
All showed up at various points, including rookie Aaron Dobson, who made one contested catch up the left sideline with cornerback Alfonzo Dennard in coverage (7 on 7 drills). Dobson also couldn't corral another long throw later in practice (11 on 11 drills).
Veteran Michael Jenkins continues to see notable reps (he hauled in a few long passes), while Kamar Aiken (7 on 7) and Danny Amendola (11 on 11) also had long grabs. Donald Jones made a nice contested catch in red-zone work under the goal posts.
Defensive backs broke up quite a few passes in the practice, led by Dennard and Ras-I Dowling.
More to come.
