Whether it be via questions submitted to Mike Reiss' weekly mailbag or chat, one of the popular topics that Patriots fans inquire about is quarterback Tim Tebow, released by the Jets earlier this offseason.
A recent report from Yahoo! Sports, however, stated that Belichick "hates" Tebow as a player and characterized the likelihood of the Patriots signing Tebow as "no chance."
Reached by ESPNBoston.com and asked about the perception that he hates Tebow and possibility of signing him, Belichick said, "I wouldn't get into the probability of us pursuing any free agent. Every single player has strengths and weaknesses but regardless of that, for anyone to have represented that is the way I feel about Tim Tebow is completely untrue, baseless and irresponsible. It is unfortunate that something so inaccurate was reported."
Given his popularity, Tebow is a player that followers of football will continue to discuss until he finds a new team. While we don't have any information regarding the Patriots' potential level of interest, it's clear that Belichick's feelings toward the player aren't what many were led to believe they were earlier this offseason.
