The Patriots have agreed to terms with rookie defensive tackle John Drew of North Carolina Central, a source confirms.

Drew (6-2, 335) passed his conditioning test with the Patriots this morning and a contract is in the process of being finalized for him to fill the final spot on the team's 90-man roster.

The Patriots had Drew in for a workout earlier in the offseason. A turf toe injury sidelined him in the pre-draft process, as he didn't participate in any Pro Days or All-Star games.

In April, the Herald-Sun newspaper wrote on Drew, detailing how the toe injury affected his senior season and NFL hopes.
