Free-agent wide receiver Laurent Robinson is scheduled to visit the Patriots on Tuesday, a source confirms.
Robinson, who worked out for the Jets on Monday, was with the Jaguars last season but was limited to seven games (4 starts) after sustaining multiple concussions. The Jaguars had signed him to a lucrative contract as a free agent after he had a career-high 54 receptions with the Cowboys in 2011.
The 28-year-old Robinson (6-2, 205) told USA Today that he feels he's healthy enough to play in 2013.
"There's going to be doubts about me with the concussions. But the only thing I can do is tell teams to bring me in, work me out and go from there," he told reporter Tom Pelissero. "I've been putting in the work all offseason, trying to get better, trying to get right. I know myself that I can still play. It's just if a team wants to take a chance on me."
It is commonplace for the Patriots to work out multiple prospects at this time of year, in part to keep emergency lists fresh, while also looking at different options to improve the roster.
