FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots have re-signed veteran offensive lineman Tyronne Green and waived undrafted rookie offensive lineman Matt Stankiewitch, the team announced on Thursday.

Green, who started 13 games at guard with the Chargers last season, was previously signed by the Patriots this offseason before being waived on May 31. A fourth-round pick of the Chargers in 2009, he has started 28 games during his career.

Stankiewitch, who was recently placed on the non-football injury list, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent after a standout career at Penn State.
Field Yates has previous experience interning with the New England Patriots on both their coaching and scouting staffs. A graduate of Wesleyan University (CT), he is a regular contributor to ESPN Boston's Patriots coverage and ESPN Insider.
