With the Patriots terminating the contract of receiver Lavelle Hawkins on Wednesday, and also waiving center/guard Nick McDonald and receiver Perez Ashford, let's re-set the personnel/projected current depth chart at each position:

WIDE RECEIVER
Danny Amendola
Aaron Dobson
Kenbrell Thompkins
Josh Boyce
Julian Edelman
Matthew Slater
Kamar Aiken
Michael Jenkins
Mark Harrison
Quentin Sims

QUICK-HIT THOUGHTS: With Edelman and Harrison not practicing, one would think the Patriots will be adding some personnel here. A lot of youth. While Slater technically counts as a wide receiver, he's a roster lock because of his special teams prowess (similar to Larry Izzo as an LB during his career).

CENTER/GUARD
Ryan Wendell
Logan Mankins (guard)
Dan Connolly
Marcus Cannon (guard/tackle)
Tyronne Green
Will Svitek (guard/tackle)
Markus Zusevics (guard/tackle)
Josh Kline
Chris McDonald

QUICK-HIT THOUGHTS: Nick McDonald had earned a spot on both ESPNBoston.com 53-man roster projections, so his release (failed physical) will open a spot for someone else in the next projection. Green, the former San Diego Charger, could be the player to benefit most. He has taken some snaps in center-QB exchange drills in camp. Similar to receiver, this could be a position where there is an addition to the roster (the team had previously worked out veteran Rex Hadnot, among others).
