FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Patriots have claimed offensive lineman Chris Barker, who was previously waived by the Miami Dolphins, a league source confirms.

Barker is the second player claimed by the Patriots who was waived by the Dolphins. Signed by Miami as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada, Barker worked as a guard for the Dolphins this preseason. He stands at 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds.

The Patriots now have 10 offensive linemen in the fold and must make a corresponding roster move to get down to 53 players.

Veteran running back Leon Washington, offensive lineman Will Svitek and defensive back Marquice Cole were not spotted at the team's Sunday afternoon practice.

Chris Murray of the Reno Gazette-Journal first reported the news.
Field Yates has previous experience interning with the New England Patriots on both their coaching and scouting staffs. A graduate of Wesleyan University (CT), he is a regular contributor to ESPN Boston's Patriots coverage and ESPN Insider.
