New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen, who reportedly underwent wrist surgery Monday and will be out a few weeks, took to social media on Monday to send a message to Patriots fans. He tweeted four "thumbs-up" symbols, an apparent gesture to ensure he was on the road to recovery.

Reports indicate he's expected to miss a few weeks after the procedure. When asked about it on a conference call with Jets reporters Monday afternoon, Patriots coach Bill Belichick declined to discuss the injury.
