Davises waived, Cole re-signed

October, 7, 2013
The Patriots have once again re-signed defensive back Marquice Cole and waived rookie safety Kanorris Davis and linebacker Ja'Gared Davis.

The move to re-add Cole was anticipated after he was waived last Friday, likely as a result of his health, as he has been limited in recent weeks and would likely not have been able to play on Sunday. The team promoted Kanorris Davis from the practice squad to fill Cole's role on special teams.

Kanorris Davis played 21 snaps during Sunday's defeat, all in the kicking game. If he clears waivers on Tuesday, he is a likely candidate to be re-signed to the practice squad.

The same goes for Ja'Gared Davis, who was activated on Saturday to fill out the 53-man roster and played six snaps on Sunday, all on special teams.

The team currently has two open practice-squad spots if they were interested in re-signing either Davis to it.
