Michael Lombardi with Pats at combine

February, 19, 2014
BOSTON -- Former Cleveland Browns general manager Michael Lombardi is part of the New England Patriots' Wednesday traveling contingent for the NFL combine. Lombardi was with coach Bill Belichick, vice president of player personnel Nick Caserio, and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on a mid-afternoon flight out of Boston’s Logan Airport en route to the combine in Indianapolis.

Lombardi, whose connection with Belichick goes back to the early 1990s when Belichick was head coach of the Browns, has been rumored to be joining the Patriots over the past week after it was announced by Browns owner Jimmy Haslam that Lombardi wouldn’t return for a second season as Cleveland’s general manager.

The Patriots have not made an official announcement on an official position for Lombardi.
