It’s baseball opening day, and in that spirit, here’s a look at some notable Patriots players with ties to the sport:

Danny Amendola: Earned all-state honors in Texas his senior year at The Woodlands High School as a second baseman.

Tom Brady: A catcher, he was drafted in the 18th round in 1995 by the Montreal Expos.

Stephen Gostkowski: In addition to football, he was a pitcher for the University of Memphis baseball team.

Rob Ninkovich: Lettered in baseball at Lincoln-Way Central High School in Lenox, Illinois.

Nate Solder: Two-year letterman at Buena Vista High School (Colorado) as a right-handed pitcher and first baseman.

And, of course, we wouldn't overlook when Bill Belichick dons his favorite baseball jersey.
