At our recent New England Patriots draft party, ESPNBoston.com’s panel of analysts discussed which safeties in this year’s draft would be good fits for the Patriots.

Patriots reporter Mike Reiss cited the comments of Rodney Harrison, who said he thought the Patriots needed a big enforcer-type safety to add to their defensive backfield.

Mike Reiss suggested 6-foot-1, 211-pound Washington State safety Deone Bucannon -- projected as a second-round pick -- as a possibility.

“He's the big, physical hard hitter in this year’s draft,” Reiss said.

Later in the conversation, Tedy Bruschi explains why he’d be disappointed if the Patriots took a safety with their first-round pick.
