Pats sign four free agents

May, 16, 2014
The New England Patriots have officially signed four free agents: long snapper Tyler Ott, linebackers James Morris and Darius Fleming, and defensive back Jeremy Deering.

Ott, from Harvard, is expected to compete with Danny Aiken for the starting job in 2014, while Fleming spent 2012-13 with San Francisco after being drafted out of Notre Dame in 2012. Fleming sustained knee injuries in each year and was released by the 49ers earlier this week.

Morris, out of Iowa, and Deering, from Rutgers, are expected to add depth to the roster as organized team activities and minicamp take place in the coming weeks.
Field Yates has previous experience interning with the New England Patriots on both their coaching and scouting staffs. A graduate of Wesleyan University (CT), he is a regular contributor to ESPN Boston's Patriots coverage and ESPN Insider.
