Hightower among offseason award winners

Each offseason, the Patriots award standout participants of their offseason workout program.

Earlier today, Mike Reiss passed along word of offensive lineman Dan Connolly receiving an award, one of 10 Patriots in total.

They other award winners were linebacker Jerod Mayo, safety Devin McCourty, wide receiver Julian Edelman, linebacker Dont'a Hightower, cornerback Logan Ryan, linebacker Jamie Collins, fullback James Develin, safety Nate Ebner and defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Players who win the offseason awards are issued parking spots closest to the entrance of the team facility. The award winners are determined by attendance and performance during the offseason program.

Mayo is the only repeat offseason award winner from 2013. He worked hard throughout the offseason to recover from a torn pectoral muscle that landed him on injured reserve just six games into last season.

Players who win the offseason award are also recognized through a photo near the entrance of the team's weight room.
