Welcome to Gillette Stadium

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Welcome to Gillette Stadium, where the New England Patriots host the Philadelphia Eagles in preseason action (7:30 p.m. ET).

Weather conditions. Temperatures are currently in the high 60s to low 70s and should remain close to that by kickoff. There is little chance of precipitation and there are light winds. All in all, an ideal night for preseason football.

Big night for Jimmy Garoppolo. One thing to watch tonight will be Garoppolo playing a bit earlier than he did last week, when he came on for the second half. This should give Garoppolo a chance to work against tougher competition, while also playing with some of the Patriots' upper-level offensive players. With four-year veteran Ryan Mallett a bit hobbled (left knee) and Tom Brady expected to see more limited action, it sets the stage for more Garoppolo. It will be a good test for him.

Those not expected to play. Earlier Friday, a list of 18 players was passed along of those not expected to play based on health-related considerations. There are usually a few more players who ultimately don't play, and we'll be keeping our eyes on Darrelle Revis to see if he's part of this group.

No field markings at Gillette. In a reminder that this is just preseason football, there is no Patriots logo at midfield and nothing in the end zones, making this a stripped-down version of the field we're accustomed to seeing at home.

GameDay cover. The Patriots' 10 offseason award winners, as previously reported by Field Yates, are featured on the cover of the GameDay program being sold at Gillette Stadium tonight.

Parry gets the call. John Parry, who was in town working with the Patriots to go over rule changes and points of emphasis this week, is tonight's referee.
