Three questions with ESPN.com AFC South reporter Paul Kuharsky (read his blog here) on former Tennessee Titans safety Vincent Fuller, who signed with the Patriots today:
1. In your time covering the Titans at the Tennessean and now ESPN.com, what do you remember about him as a player?
"Smart player, really good teammate, hard worker, stand-up guy."
2. Why didn't the Titans bring him back in 2011?
"Jeff Fisher and the Titans were extremely loyal to him up until last year, then either scapegoated him or saw a major drop-off. That staff never/very rarely demoted veterans, but it bumped him out of the nickel spot, which they viewed as a starting job, in favor of rookie Alterraun Verner."
3. What can the Patriots expect from him at this point?
"I would think if he has anything left, Belichick and his staff would be able to count on him for reliable coverage out of the slot against underneath stuff. But, of course, there is a reason he's available. And his ability as a small guy to hold up is always a question."
